Since then, she has had the opportunity to use her knowledge and experience all over the world and has recently been recognised one of the Ten Outstanding Young Women of the Republic of China. Cristina wants to share her experiences with the Discipline of Nursing: "I am writing to you to thank you and appreciate all of yours instruction, patience, and love when I was studying in Adelaide University. This year, I have been honored “The Ten Outstanding Young Women Award, Taiwan 2007” by China Young Corps. It is a national award. This Award is established every 2 years and stopped recently for 6 years due to political issue. This year, in total of 84 women who have great contribution to Taiwan are nominated to compete this Award (I am one of them). Finally, I am honored the glory. It is my honor to share this Award with all of you and my lovely school, Adelaide University. I have been learned lots of things when I was study in university. I really appreciate all of you giving me the courage and extend my view of nursing. After graduated in 1999, I went to north of Thailand to assist the prevention of Malaria. During 2002-2006, I have attended international relief in Malawi, Haiti, Republic of Dominic, Sri Lanka, and Gambia for medical mission. Last year, 2006, I went to Horn of Africa, Somaliland, Somalia, to assist this country to reconstruction nursing system and education. All of these I have done for this world are because all of you. You inspire me to explore the nursing field and extend the discipline of nursing to the third world. I find the core value of nursing. Therefore, I would like to thank you again for giving me so much love and courage."
