Project management

The HEDI team has a dedicated project management group with experience in:

  • Development of the client brief,
  • identification and consultation with key stakeholders,
  • project planning:
  • development of plans,
  • documentation,
  • implementation,
  • monitoring,
  • introduction of contemparary education technology and systems,
  • recognition and management of intellectual property and copyright issues,
  • staff training and development.

The HEDI team works closely with Adelaide Research and Innovation (ARI) and has access to a broad range of project management expertise.

 

 

Case Study:

University of Sharjah logoJoint Dental Education Project

The University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, and The University of Adelaide, Australia.

In January 2005, the two Universities reached agreement to cooperate on a joint dental education project aimed at establishing a new College of Dentistry at the University of Sharjah.

Under the terms of the agreement, the University of Sharjah is being provided with the University of Adelaide's Bachelor of Dental Surgery as a complete package over six years. The package covers:

  • all curriculum material,
  • instructions and support material for staff,
  • support for the development of academic policies and administration,
  • program timetabling, and
  • assessment.

The material is provided online and in various packaged forms using advanced contemporary technology.

The University of Adelaide also provides direct assistance and advice on the recruitment and development of staff, and the development of facilities.

The project is managed through daily electronic communication and regular visits to Sharjah by staff from Adelaide.

The University of Sharjah has provided excellent facilities and support at its Medical and Health Sciences campus and is undertaking world class further developments. These activities include:

  • The expansion of teaching and teaching support areas,
  • the further introduction of cutting edge technology,
  • the establishment of a new General Hospital and associated Dental Hospital, and
  • the establishment of research programs.

The University of Adelaide also provides direct assistance and advice on the recruitment orientation and development of staff, and the development of facilities.
