Where should I go for advice about whether the changes will affect my program of study?
Your first step should be to check the section Course Changes from 2008 in the Faculty of Health Sciences and the FAQs. Then, if you do not find the answer to your question you should contact a program advisor.
Will there be any changes to how I enrol in my courses?
There will be no changes to the enrolment procedure. Information on how to enrol is on the University's Online Enrolment site. If you have trouble enrolling, please contact the Faculty Office.
How will I know how many units I have completed already?
Check your enrolment history through Access Adelaide to find out how many units you have completed. Only count units of courses you have passed; do not include units of failed or withdrawn courses.
How will I know how many units I still need to get my degree?
The total number of units you require to complete the degree and to pass each level of the degree remain unchanged and is specified in the program rules in the University Calendar. You can log into Access Adelaide and look at your transcript to determine how many units you have already completed. Then subtract the number of completed units from the total units required for your degree.
I am doing a double degree (or combined). How will I know which courses have changed?

I started in 2006, are any of the changes going to affect me?
If you started your degree in 2006 or earlier, and you are enrolled in a single degree, have studied full time and have not failed any course, your study plan will not be affected by the changes.
I started in 2007, are any of the changes going to affect me?
If you started your degree in 2007 or earlier and have:
- studied some of your program part-time
- are enrolled in a double degree
- have had a leave of absence
- have failed one or more courses
you may be affected by these changes and you may need to enrol in one (or more) of the revised courses in order to complete your degree.
What if I haven't finished my degree by the time all the courses in the program have changed to the new unit value?
You may find that you need to enrol in some of the revised courses in order to complete your degree. There will be transition arrangements in place for students who are affected by the course changes.
I started in 2005 (or 2006) and took a break from studying. Now I want to finish my degree. How will the changes affect me?
You will find that level II courses are now 3 units and you may need to enrol in some of the revised courses in order to complete your degree.
I am studying part-time, how will these changes affect me?
If you studying part-time you may be affected by these course changes. You may need to enrol in one (or more) of the revised courses in order to complete your program of study.
If you are a part-time student studying Level II or Level III Psychology courses in 2008 there will be changes to your program of study. For information refer the section on Important information for all part-time students studying Psychology courses in 2008.
I am adding a new program to my existing program in 2008 to make up a double degree. How will I know what to do?
As each student will be at different stages in their programs, we suggest you contact a program advisor or student advisor for advice.
How will the restructuring affect postgraduate qualifications?
If you are studying postgraduate courses you will not be affected by these course changes as postgraduate courses are not changing. You will need to complete a Bachelor degree and any other stated prerequisites to apply for a postgraduate program.
What are the new unit value requirements for a major?
The unit value requirements for a major within a Health Sciences program remains at 9 units of Level III courses. The unit value requirement for a major in Psychology remains at 12 units.
