Honours
in Anatomical Sciences 2009
How does Honours help me?
At the end of the three years of university education you may
not have developed skills essential to enter into the career path of your ambition.
An honours programme will allow you to develop/improve many of the essential
skills including critical thinking, critical evaluation/analysis/interpretation,
academic writing, planning and conduction of research, time management, ability
to work independently. In addition, honours develops self confidence. An honours
degree does not only lead to higher studies and/or academic research, but also
can help to gain admission into highly competitive professional programmes such
as Medicine, Veterinary Science, Physiotherapy and/or other Bio-medical sciences
careers. The training and the qualifications you gain will put you ahead of
other competitors.
Why is Honours in Anatomical Sciences special?
The honours programme offered by the Department of Anatomical Sciences is designed
to develop all the above skills. Anatomical Sciences honours projects are in
areas of high demand in the broad area of bio-medical sciences. Therefore, it
opens pathways to enter and establish a career in areas that are in high demand
(i.e., either directly or after the completion of a MSc or a PhD). The great
success of our honours students in gaining employment or admission into higher
degree programmes demonstrate why Honours in Anatomical Sciences is special.
